Introducing Prop Card Challenge Campaigns:
Turn Any Event Into a Leaderboard

Engaged Nation Team
  September 24, 2026   15 min read Article

Prop Card Challenge Campaigns are launching now — the newest campaign type inside Promo on Demand's Campaign Mode, and one of the most flexible things we've ever shipped. A prop card hands every participant one card of head-to-head prediction questions about a single game or event, scores it automatically once the event is over, and ranks everyone on a leaderboard. No weekly grind, no season-long commitment — just one card, one picks window, one leaderboard.

And it isn't just for football. We're launching with 170 pre-built prop card templates spanning 10 categories — sports, yes, but also awards shows, elections, product launches, holidays, hurricanes, and more — plus the option to build any card you can dream up from a blank sheet. Whatever's happening at your property or in the news this month, there's very likely already a template ready for it.

🃏

The pitch in one line: Check out our new Prop Card Campaign, launching now. Pick a pre-built card or build your own, set your budget as high or as low as you want, and give your customers a reason to come back for one specific moment — an insured grand prize or a simple drawing-entry giveaway, your call.

What Is a Prop Card Challenge Campaign?

A Prop Card Challenge Campaign gives each participant a single card with up to 30 prediction questions, each with up to 5 answer options. Some questions are single-answer (radio button — "who wins the coin toss?"), others allow multiple selections (checkbox — "which of these three things will happen?"). Participants fill out the whole card once, during one pick window that you set. After your event happens, you (or we) mark the correct answers, the platform scores every card automatically, and a leaderboard ranks every participant who played.

Participants fill out their card once, on their own device, anytime during the pick window you set.

Because it's a native campaign type inside the same Campaign Mode that already powers every other Promo on Demand promotion, it comes with everything you already rely on:

  • Unlimited participants — no per-seat cost, no cap on who can play
  • Personal device play — a participant fills out their card from their own phone, tablet, or computer
  • Open or closed participation — a public promotion or invite-only for your loyalty members
  • Multi-channel distribution — email, SMS, QR codes, social, or direct mail, exactly like any other campaign
  • Drawing entries and audit history — the same admin dashboard, audit history, and reporting you already use everywhere else

Two Ways to Build a Card

There are two paths to a live prop card, and you can choose either one every time you launch a campaign.

  Pre-Built Template Fastest path

Pick one of our 170 pre-built templates, drop in your campaign dates, and you're done. Every template comes with its own questions and answer options already written — you can use it exactly as delivered or open it up and customize the wording, add a question, or swap out an answer option to fit your property.

  Build My Own Full control

Start with a blank card and write every question and answer option yourself — up to 30 questions, 5 answers each, mixing radio and checkbox questions however you like. No super admin involvement required and no template workaround.

On-Site Activations

An easy way to drive an incremental visit to your property is requiring on-site activations of your player's submitted prop card. Just set up a button on your promotional kiosk that they have to tap. Then, you can compare activated cards to the total submitted to see who qualifies for the prize pool before awarding the prizes.

Bonus Earning Period

Another way to drive incremental revenue — as well as giving your players additional chances — is to offer a Bonus Card Earning Period. For a set amount of on-floor rated play — say 100 base points each — your players can earn up to 5 additional prop cards to fill out and submit. Typically, this bonus period runs about 1 week before the prop card is activated and ready to be filled out and submitted.

Know What to Change, and When

Every pre-built template starts with its own built-in instructions telling you exactly what to fill in before you launch, and — just as importantly — when it's safe to fill it in. Placeholders like <TEAM A>, <YEAR>, or <HOST CITY> aren't left for you to guess at:

  • Our Academy Awards (Oscars) — Ceremony Card template (Entertainment → Awards) tells you to hold off on <FILM A/B>, <ARTIST A/B>, and every other nominee placeholder until nominations are announced in January — not before, since awards cards have a hard information gate that sports cards don't. It also flags that results should come from the Academy's own winners archive rather than same-night news coverage, since live telecasts have occasionally mis-announced a winner before the correction went out.
  • Our World Series — Game 1 Single Game Props template already has every date locked to the postseason bracket; you just fill in <TEAM A> and <TEAM B> once the matchup is set.
  • Our Apple Fall Keynote — Product & Pricing Props template tells you to wait on rumor-based placeholders until closer to the event and to lean only on Apple's own confirmed invite details for anything you publish here.

That same placeholder also tells you where a template's questions come from so you're never guessing at wording on launch day.

Scoring It Yourself: Where to Find the Answers

Once your event is over, someone must mark the correct answers before the leaderboard can be scored. If you are managing your own card (anything that isn't one of our insured pre-approved templates — see below), here's where admins typically go to verify results:

  • Sports — the league's own official box score or stats page (NFL.com, NBA.com, MLB.com, NHL.com), or a major broadcaster's recap
  • Awards & Entertainment — the ceremony's own official winners page (oscars.org, grammy.com, emmys.com)
  • Elections & Civic Events — the Associated Press race call or your state's certified state results
  • Shopping & Consumer — National Retail Federation (NRF) and Adobe Analytics holiday spending recaps
  • Weather — the National Weather Service / NOAA's official climate and storm data
  • Science & Space — NASA or the sponsoring agency's own mission press kit and post-launch recap

Mark each question's correct answer(s) on your campaign's Scoring tab, and the platform takes it from there — every submitted card is scored automatically, and the leaderboard rebuilds itself.

Not Just Sports: 170 Templates Across 10 Categories

Prop cards work anywhere people have an opinion about how something is going to turn out — which is a much bigger list than "sports." Here's what is in the template library at launch:

Category Templates Example Cards
Sports 51 World Series, The Masters, NFL Conference Championships
Entertainment 19 Oscars, Tonys, The Game Awards
Weather 17 Atlantic Hurricane Season, Single Winter Storm
Civic/Political 14 Election Night, State of The Union
Holidays 14 Halloween Weather / Trick-Or-Treating, Times Square Ball Drop
Tech 14 Apple Fall Keynote, CES Show
Major Events 12 Nobel Prize, World Expo
Music 10 Grammys, AMA, CMA
Science/Space 10 Solar Eclipse, SpaceX Crew-13 (Launch & Docking)
Shopping 9 Black Friday, "Prime Day"

Think about what that unlocks for a property that isn't a sportsbook: at a shopping-mall running a Black Friday spending prop card in the food court, a resort running an Oscars-night card at the bar, a downtown venue running a CES reveal-night card for its tech-minded regulars, or a property near a launch site running a NASA card the week of a big mission. If you can imagine your customers arguing about how something's going to turn out, there's almost certainly a template — or a five-minute custom build — that fits.

Insured, Pre-Approved Prop Cards

Some of our pre-built templates carry something extra: they're insured and pre-approved. That means the questions and answer options on that specific card have already been reviewed and signed off by our insurance company and the prize amount behind it is backed — not something you're funding out of your own budget.

  • Use it as-is. An insured template's questions and answers are locked. That's the tradeoff for the insurance backing — the exact wording the insurer approved is the exact wording that must run.
  • We manage it for you. Engaged Nation's own admin team updates the placeholders on an insured card before it launches (filling in the teams, dates, and names once they're official), scores it after the event using the same official sources listed above, and handles reporting the results to our insurance company. You don't have to do any of that yourself.
  • You still control the campaign around it. Your dates, branding, distribution, additional drawing entries — the insured card just slots into your campaign the same way any other prop card does.

Building Your Own Card — and Getting It Insured

Prefer to write your own questions but still want the insured backing? You have two options:

Request Insurance Approval We review it for you

Build your card, then send us a Request Insurance Approval directly from your campaign's Info tab. Our insurance company reviews your questions and answer options, and either approves them as written or comes back with specific modifications needed before they will back it. Nothing about your card is touched without your say-so — you decide whether to accept the suggested changes.

  Self-Insure Full creative freedom

Or skip the approval process entirely and fund the prize yourself. You write whatever questions you want in whatever wording you want, and you owe the payout. No third-party sign-off needed — just your own budget and your own rules.

Don't See a Category That Fits? Build One Only You Could Run

A prop card doesn't have to be about a game or a ceremony at all. If you can count it, watch for it, and settle it honestly after the fact, it's fair game for a prop card — and the most fun cards are often the ones built around something only your property can offer.

  • Running a casino floor? Try "How many jackpots will you hit this month?", "How many of those will be progressive?", or "Will the high-limit room or the main floor pay out more this weekend?"
  • Running a restaurant or bar? Try "Which drink sells the most this weekend?", "How many guests will we seat for Mother's Day brunch?", or "Will happy hour or dinner service sell more appetizers on Friday?"

Those are just starting points — get creative, make the card your own, and think outside the box. Nobody knows your floor, your bar, or your calendar of events better than you do.

Any Budget: Big Insured Prizes or Simple Drawing Entries

Here's the part worth repeating: a prop card doesn't need a five- or six-figure insured grand prize to be worth running. You can build the exact same customer-engagement moment on almost no budget at all by awarding drawing entries instead of a direct prize.

Turn on "Award Drawing Entries" in the wizard, set an entry amount, and every participant who submits a card earns entries to the drawing you run afterward — a single winner or a handful of winners, your call using the same Random Player Drawing Tool you already use for every other campaign. Your total cost comes to whatever prize (or prizes) you put behind that one drawing, not a payout owed to every correct answer on the board.

💡

A prop card doesn't have to be a big bet. Run it purely as a customer-involvement play — no insured grand prize, no direct per-question payout — and hold one drawing at the end for a single winner or multiple winners. It's the same engagement, same leaderboard buzz, at whatever size fits your budget.

Leaderboards, Bragging Rights & Clean Nicknames

Every prop card campaign gets a single leaderboard ranked by score once scoring is complete — ties are broken by who submitted their card first, then by who registered for the campaign first. What you do with that leaderboard is entirely up to you:

  • Award prizes as deep as you want. Pay out the top 1, the top 10, or the top 50 — you choose how far down the board the rewards go.
  • Or don't award at all. Use it purely for bragging rights and award drawing entries for participation instead. The leaderboard still drives engagement and repeat visits even when nothing is attached to rank.
  • Mix both. A top prize for first place, drawing entries for everyone else who played.

Participants pick their own nickname to appear on the public leaderboard so standings can be shared without exposing anyone's real name or contact information — and every nickname passes through a profanity filter before it goes live, so you're never stuck moderating the board by hand.

Genuinely Easy to Set Up

A prop card campaign is built in the exact same 4-step Campaign Wizard you already use for every other campaign type — there's no separate tool to learn and no code involved anywhere in the process.

  1. Campaign Details: Select "Prop Card" as your campaign type, then configure Extra Picks, Award Drawing Entries, and whether onsite activation is required.
  2. Branding & Customization: Pick your theme background and colors — the same options as any other campaign.
  3. Prop Card Selection: Choose a Pre-Built Template or Build My Own. Selecting a template loads its full question set into a drag-and-drop card builder — reorder questions, reorder answer options, or edit wording, all without touching a line of code. Explicit Save and Save & Close buttons mean nothing is ever half saved mid-edit.
  4. Review & Launch: Confirm your dates and settings, then save as a draft or go live immediately.

Once your card is live, a simple readiness checklist on the campaign's Scoring tab tells you exactly what's left before you can run scoring — correct answers set, activations uploaded (if required), and, for an insured template, whether our team has approved it yet. When everything is checked off, starting the scoring queue is the same one-click flow you already use for every other campaign — no manual grading, no spreadsheets.
